Hi guys, i'm trying to get something unique for my wife for our 5 year anniversary. i have an idea but trying to see what's the best way to get it done.

Want to create chalkboard artwork listing special dates (about 8x8 or smaller, something she can put on her nighstand by the bed). See the attached picture for what i have in mind- something very similar to this.

since its 5 years, i do want to have this in wood so chalkboard to be would be fine.

all the sites online only give you a print and then i would have to go purchase the wood or chalkboard and glue it on there. is that my best option? or is there any service out there that can print custom artwork on a chalkboard?

Since you want it small, you could do your own custom print and decoupage it on to a piece of wood.

If you would like to make this yourself you can buy a piece of wood from the hardware store and spray on chalkboard paint.
You can then print out the lettering and use transfer paper to copy on the wood. Buy chalkboard pen from the dollar store or craft store and fill in the lettering.
I did a dated wood slice using transfer paper and a felt pen, so similar idea but not a chalkboard. The link: http://www.make-craft-projects.com/wood-slice-sign.html

That sounds like a lovely gift idea. What was your final gift? Like what are the details? I would love to know. My brother is looking for an idea for his wife as well.
