Hello all! I am trying to make paper tents (think number tents in restaurants) for my sisters wedding. They will have a # on them with a link. My thought was to have a cream colored paper and use my Cricut to cut the saying out. I then wanted to put coral and navy paper on the inside of the cream tent so the saying shows through as that color. My problem is I can't for the life of me figure out how to cut it out! I keep getting fantastic letters cut out but putting paper behind just looks like a blob. Any suggestions???

Do you have a picture of what you are doing?

It sounds like the letters that are being cut out are not leaving behind the "details". You may have to glue the inside pieces onto your backing paper.

I don't have a picture, but that is my issue. The details aren't there. The top paper I am using is textured so gluing it down won't work. Thanks for the suggestion though!

I'm at a loss for any suggestions, either. Describe what a blob is? Spray glue should work, if you need gluing.

You could use Mod Podge - it would work on the textured paper. Put a coat on your backing paper, then place the detail pieces of your letters where they belong. The Mod Podge is thick enough that it should hold the textured paper just fine. And it dries clear.

I'm not familiar with the Cricut machine. Is there a font you can use that will leave the detail pieces connected so they don't "disappear"?

making paper tents is really good.

Depending on the kind of tents you are making, I am not really sure, glue gun glue can work. It will act as weight at the base as well.
