This is just the undershirt, i'm going to get rid of the laces and turn it into a v-neck.

I'll be working on the shoulderpad and vambrace next, i'm saving the shin protectors for last, as i need alot of leather for those.

I got some new gloves today, black leather with adjustable clasp, so it's also easier to attach the metal cestus once i make that.

looking good so far :) and actually, if you just drop the laces and stiffen the colar you should be good. No real alterations required

Yep, i'm taking out the lace and dying it black so i can use it for the shoulderpads as a wrap around my chest to hold the left cape in place.

That way everything will get recycled in one go.

Looking good! Not sure if you have cheap 2nd hand places around you, but for the leather, on Sunday/Mondays here the thrift store has 99 cent tags- I got two leather jackets for $2 plus tax- if you found an XXL you could get a TON of leather to work with

It's coming together nicely though!

Very neat! I love making costumes. I made my GS a Knight costume, he puts it on and tells his mom he needs to hold her hand and walk her to the mail box as he needs to protect her! When they get into the house he runs and straps on his Western Guns and tell her that Knights should of had guns as they could get more bad guys with guns instead of swords!
I have gotten leather from thrift stores/garage sales and tore items apart to get the leather.
This is a leather vest that I made from a skirt. It is my first attempt at making a Davy Crockett vest.

That's cute Libbie! You did a great job. I love the imagination of a child. I still have a vivid imagination. I don't think I'm going to out grow it anytime soon!
