While I am waiting on my Mom during her treatments, I leave my sketchbook in my car. I decided to try my hand at zentangles. Or as many of us artists just call it doodling.

Here are some images on Pinterest:

And I have attached my beginnings:

And I think I have mentioned zentangle quilts. Which is pretty neat too! I probably should put it in quilting, but I wanted to show that zentangling is wide open to any area!

And a video on quilting.

This is an artform that I truly want to try. I just love the look of zentangles. There's a lady in The Netherlands who makes the most awesome zentangles, and posts them regularly on another forum that I visit.

Well, this is her latest, I think. I have a hard time keeping up with her.

Thank you Keeo! She is good.

I found this tonight. Like I said, zentangling is wide open.

The first is finished....

I started my second one yesterday. Monday my Aunt Gwen drove her and Tuesday and Wednesday, she drove herself. Yesterday and today she drives to my house and I drive.

Yesterday I met a new young friend, Arizona. I am calling him this because that is where he is from and we never got around to our names. But, I will see him again today. So, I have a date with an 11 yr old.

I go outside while Mom is in treatment to doodle my zentangles. Arizona came out and asked what I was making and says he does abstract art. I explained what zentangles is and wrote it down for him. He said he was visiting his grandparents. I asked which one was doing treatments and he told me his grandmother. I told him it was my mother. His grandparents came out at that time and I told him I would see him tomorrow and for him to bring his sketchpad and we would zentangle together. He laughed and said ok. His grandparents smiled, but I am sure they were wondering about the strange 50 year old woman!

And here are the beginnings of my second zentangle page I started yesterday...

Nice job Tracy. That really is a good way to pass the time when you're waiting around like that.

I hope all goes well with your mom. And it would be really neat if your new friend Arizona shows up with a sketch book!

Arizona showed up without a sketchbook, but he came to sit down with me and we just talked. I told him I called him Arizona and he grinned and said his name was Joey. We had a nice short visit before his grandmother came.

Keeo, I am learning the different patterns now. I hope my work does get better!
