Growing up, I didn't like my name...it sounded 'odd' to me. As I got older, the fewer Amy's I met...so I kind of liked it. Now, I have seen more Amy's on 'here' than anywhere my whole life! ROFL

I'm attaching a pic...because I think it speaks for itself:

Pretty simple. My name is David and my Volunteer Fire Department number is 804. Around home I answer to either. David or 804.

TLA are the three different first letters in all 6 of our names. The G is for our last name, and we were married in 1986.

Hello everyone, I'm new.

My daughter and I was trying to find the perfect name for my art website. I told her I wanted something with "art" in it. Since we are from the south, she came up with "downright".

Since I was looking for a crafts forum(art, crafts, sewing, crocheting, etc.) I decided to use the name of my website.

Yup, good name! I'm a southern gal, too, so I can appreciate something that's 'downright'. Especially when it's 'downrightart'!

I guess I should add my story here.

I've always been a fan of Pinocchio, the original story by Carlo Collodi. When I started my business, I wanted it to be related to the original story, because he tried so hard to be a real person. I also did not want the spelling or my logo to look anything like what disney was doing, so the name PiNO-KEE-O's was phonetically spelled and the original logo was reworked to add a walking stick, because I walk with a cane. When I went into a chat forum, I dropped all the upper case lettering and the hyphens and scrunched it all together.

So, now you know.

BTW, I just read every post in this thread and I think it's a great thread.
