Default menstrual cramps

Do any of you get bad menstrual cramps? I use to until I had children. After I had children they left. Now my daughter (16) gets them very bad. What do take to relieve the pain? She took ibuprofen for the first time and it did help some. We use herbs and homeopathy for everything but have not been able to find something that will help this time.

I use to get them really bad as a kid and then they went away after I had kids but now they are back. I use a heating pad sometimes to help relive some pain it really seems to help.

I also find that ibuprofen helps. So does walking. Mine only get bad once every few months *knock on wood* but on the bad days, I always feel way better after I have walked my daughter to or home from school. It is really difficult to get myself moving though!

I just looked up what is in 'Midol Complete'. Personally (and this is only my opinion) I think it is a waste of money.
"Active ingredients (in each caplet)
Acetaminophen 500 mg. Pain reliever
Caffeine 60 mg. Stimulant
Pyrilamine maleate 15 mg. Diuretic"
(cut and pasted from: http://www.midol.com/menstrual_complete_caps.html )
Basically Tylenol Ultra with something added to make you pee. I've never priced it, but I'll bet you could get a couple bottles (or one big one) of a generic brand of "tylenol ultra" for the same price as a little bottle of Midol.

Where do you place the heating pad? Lower back? I've never tried that.

ugh, I get them horrible...and every month I am off the pill it gets gradually worse. I take some IB , a huge iced latte and a chocolate bar and lock myself in a room for a couple of days

obviously, I am not a doctor but everyone in the house appreciates it

My wife had the same problem before pregnancy. She took ibuprofen, but it stopped working after some time. After that her doctor said there were special pills for women (unfortunately, I don't remember the name). I should say, they really worked. By the way, there exist a good source that can help you to find out all necessary information about the needed meds - Canadian Pharmacy Online as it includes the description of all pills that are sold there. We use it for this purpose all the time, also we order medications there from time to time.
