Default Anyone do home shows/parties?

I had someone ask me to do a home show for them, sort of like a Silpada party type thing. Anyways, I could use all the help I can get on how to go about doing this: displays, packaging, incentives, etc. Oh, I sell artisan jewelry. Thanks!

Heidi

I've done a few and found them to be worth it! Sometimes I bring a table, but I usually try to use their dining table and just bring my own props. I introduce myself, give a brief blurb on my work and encourage everyone to try things on. I also bring my beads, people love to pick out their own beads for custom orders (which I rarely do on the spot but offer delivery).

If there are going to be any more then 4 guests, be sure to bring a friend to help with cash so that your free to talk to the customers.

As for incentives, I do 10% of pretax sales towards jewelry and usually throw in a pair of earrings...I'm thinking of upping this amount a little.

Some people provide an invitation with website or pics for the hostess to give out, people are more likely to go if they like what they see first. This is something I don't do yet but am thinking about it.

Check out this link too...it's a great jewelry business how-to site!

Hth Have fun!

I don't host parties or anything but I just went to one that my friend had . It was great fun and she said it was definitely well worth it!!
This one was hosted in her home, she had beautiful fabrics to cover tables and what not, props for her jewellery and mirrors spread out. She also used things like vases and glasses to display her jewelery, things she already owned which really looked pretty.

Other then that she had cute as a button boxes, tissues and bags *which I liked a lot because most of my purchases are for Christmas gifts! That and she had invite cards printed up through vista print, she chose their post cards and handed those out as party invitations!! On the back she had areas to fill out date, location and time and also gave out her business card. That same day someone booked her to host a jewelery party at their house for a few weeks later and she gave her a stack of invites to hand out to her friends. The host will get something as a bonus, depending on how many sales are brought in.

Hope that helps . She did great with it!

I do home parties for paper crafting and it is definitely where I get most of my money. With jewelry you'd run it a little different than I do, but some things could transfer.

You'd want to offer your hostess a little inexpensive gift.

You definitely want to see up a nice display. Make it look professional but not feel like they can't touch things. If they touch it they're more likely to buy. Probably bring a mirror so they can try things on and see how great it looks on them.

If you think you might want to do more of these, offer an incentive to people for booking a party while they're there. (Don't give them the incentive until their party though).

Advertise your online shop, hand out business cards.
