Bloggers: Helpful Tips

I dont claim to be any fancy schmancy blogger but I thougth I'd share some stuff I have learned:

www.threecolumnblogger.com is an excellent tutorial for making your blog three column

thecutestblogontheblock.com and hotbliggityblogs.com are great resrouces for HTML blog backgrounds

You can make your own clickable widgets by using a picture, uploading it to photobucket (most sidebars use widgets that are 150x150) and take the HTML code from photobucket. You then have to change where the URL directs to. (If anyone wants a tutorial for this please let me know.)

You can make easy peasy graphics for FREE by using www.getpaint.net

entrecard.com is a useful marketing tool for some as is www.projectwonderful.com

helpful tip: most blog readers HATE automusic. Trust me.

What helpful blog tips do you have?

Oh and I forgot:
if you are not already doing so, make sure you have feedburner and google analytics on your blog, and google analytics on your Etsy/artfire/selling shops. If anyone needs info on how to do this, let me know!

What I would love to learn more about is google page rank, I see website guides and what not, but it's still like latin to me

Do you mean how fast you are found in google or an actual rank (which I dont know much about.) If you mean for example, if you google "mamaslittlemonkeys" you find most of my stuff, that is use of good SEO-search engine optimization. There is a great show put on by the founders of Artfire, www.insidehandmade.com every weekand they have older shows about SEO. Venues like Etsy and Artfire focus a lot on SEO (although I think AF does a better job of it). Basically its' about taking advantage of how you word things. Its a long crazy complicated process I dont totally understand and it is one of the reasons I stay on Etsy adn Artfire, so I get benefit from their SEO.

Is that what you meant?

For blogs, its helpful to use all the tags on your blog post (called labels i think on blogger).

o I so rock the search engine thing LOL comes from selling on ebay and knowing to put every single word you can to come up in search

But nah I'm so in the dark about an actual rank...like the 1/10 I have right now
