We do screenprinting and embroidery, so we had to invest in a manual 6 color press, dryer, a professional grade SWF embroidery machine, heat press...there is a lot of equipment in my garage, LOL.

We have most of it paid off. We started making a decent living from the get-go because of contacts we already had, and then the word of mouth referrals. The recession has really hit our business though, and we are barely making it right now - we are getting more serious about our marketing and networking, redoing our website, and hoping that things will turn around for us!

when i had a "store" I really just barely made enough to replenish my supplies.. But hey.. I have a cabinet and a closet full of fabrics now..
Now i am doing YYMN(your yarn my needles) for some people. Trades and for some cash. It just kinda happened. Theres not much supplies to go along with that but i just want money to buy more yarn so i dont have to ask DH if i can have something..

I'm a WAHM and kind of struggling right now. I'm going to work hard over the next few months to get more things in stock. When I have in stock items they sell fast.

I make enough to pay the bills that I need to pay each month.

It certainly takes effort though!

well... my business supports my fluffy addiction (cloth diapers ,woolies, etc.), which if I didn't have, could at least buy our groceries. lol.

I decided to start my business so I could trade for diapers. At this point I'm not even sure I've made enough $ to cover supplies, but I have had a lot of awesome trades! I haven't yet listed my items anywhere except DS, so I suspect that is the reason. And I'm OK with that. We're (hopefully) moving soon, and after that I'm wanting to get my stuff listed with a HC congo.

I make enough to support the habit, and cover some bills. In December and this month, my dh asked for my help covering bills. It's made things tight in the business as far as being able to purchase supplies, but I'm making it. I actually just raised my prices on some things, because when we went over the number, I wasn't paying myself nearly enough for my time.

Before i raised my prices last week i was barely covering all of my supplies. I raised my prices so now i hope to start making some $ to help cover some bills since our family farm SUCKS right now thanks to the economy! I have spent the last year getting my name out there and building some good feedback so hopefully things will start to take off for me. It all takes time to build a good business, IMO!

I make just enough to cover the habit. I would love to make more and I have down sized but I still dont bring in alot of profit. I still enjoy it and will continue.

I am just getting started as a WAHM. I make pottery, and my expenses compared to what I am bringing in are pretty high- hopefully as I make more things and build my reputation, I can change that. I do love to throw things though, and have gotten some good feedback from the testing process, so I am hopeful that this will be something that can help our family make ends meet.
