I had an open house last month and I was happy with the results for it being the first one. I was afraid no one would show up. I had door prices, variety of prices, light snacks/beverages, etc. I emailed those who provided an email address on the door prize form, and mailed others who did not, a newlsetter. I have not heard back from 1 person. Is this normal? I read several e-books on jewelery buisness, doing jewlery home parties ,etc and they all mention about doing newsletters etc. but not too often. Does anyone else do newlsetters? Here is the one I sent out.
Missy's Jewelry Designs August Newsletter
I want to thank those who attended my first open house.
I hope everyone enjoyed themselves and the jewelry.
I have been busy working on a new line of jewelry.
Memory wire bracelets. I just LOVE 'EM, although they
can be a bit of a challenge to make. Like when I loosen
the grip of the wire and the coils spring back and the beads go flying. Most of the time I just laugh because my 5 yr old is with me. Usually, she volunteers to pick them up for me.But after the 3rd (or 4th) time, she gets annoyed with me and tells me to get them myself: )

I am hoping to expand and be able to do at least one open house per month, especially during the holiday season. I know, with this heat, who is thinking of the holidays? Well, the kids have been listening to some Christmas cds to make them feel cooler. Not sure how that is working out.
*********************************************
Please tell me your thoughts on the open house and what improvements I can work on.
I would also love to know your favorite type of jewlery.
Do you prefer:
bright, bold, or neutral colors?
chunky or delicate jewelry?
chains, wire, or elastic?
necklaces, bracelets, earrings, anklets?

I think that's a lot of info in one newsletter, but other then that I could only suggest keeping to a very low minimum with mail outs... no more then 3 or 4 in a year because anymore then that and I feel like I'm being spammed. I had one person who was sending them out so much I left her facebook group to get away from the messages *lol.

I wouldn't worry about not getting an email back, people generally don't respond to them, but getting them is always a nice reminder that your work is always available .
