Default Online Shopping Carts

What online shopping cart do you use? Why do you love it why do you hate it?

I use zencart which, after you figure out how to set it up, is pretty awesome. It is completely free and there are always people working to make it a better system.

This cart is very flexible and pretty worry free. It takes a bit of work to set it up initially and you will have to learn a thing or two about the inner workings of your webhost but it was worth it for me. No monthly fee and no cost other than PayPal fees and my webhost fees.

I linked my shopping cart with my PayPal account and that is great but sometimes PayPal kicks customers back to my website without letting them check out completely. When the get back to my website their shopping cart will be empty and they have to go through everything all over again. I imagine this is causing me to lose the occasional not so dedicated customer.

Most of my customers have already tried my soap and are returning for more so they know its worth giving it another try to buy some soap.

Share your shopping cart choice and experiences.

I've only used hyenacart and I really enjoyed it. I think one of the biggest reasons I like it is because there's all ready advertising for you so long as your store is active. You show up in the directories and that's nice. Also, you can get virtually free advertising on their forum so long as you activly post on it. I'm actually closing up my "shop" in order to focus on my blog and knitting for family (I miss making things for my kids )

I use PayPal shopping cart. It works great. They are suppose to be adding a place for coupon codes which will make it much nicer.

I use PayPal's shopping cart also. It suits my purposes for now, and is very convenient and 'easy' (for this technically challenged person) to set up. My biggest issue with the system is shipping---my products are small and I find it difficult keep the shipping costs reasonable.
