Default Another paper bowl

Ok, so I've been in the shop experimenting with paper. This is a bowl that is made entirely from paper. It started out being plain white...

...then I painted it and added a border.

So what do you think? I haven't figured out yet how to make them completely waterproof, but I'm working on it.

That is really nifty. How is it made from paper? It looks too neat and smooth to be paper mache.

It's hard to believe that is paper. It looks too perfect.

I really really like the bowl though! Is there a write up on how to do it?

Very, very cool. I can't even imagine what it takes to do something like this. Some of you guys on this forum really amaze me.
Great job.

it's awesome! i'd given some thoughts to making bowls out of thinly sliced vegetables before (never did figure out how to do it, but if you search for vegetable parchment bowls, you'll find a woman who does them). but paper bowls, now that sounds like such a great idea for recycling!

what all have you tried for waterproofing? i know that most crafters hesitate to claim anything is waterproof, but i really think more times than not, shellac or glaze does probably make them safe for at least hand washing!
