eta: predrafting is such a time saver in the end. It loosens up the fibers so they're not as sticky (not sure if that's the technical term ) and makes even spinning much easier.
the basics is you break your top into smaller sections (either by splitting down the middle or by pulling off a section from one end) and then lengthen those sections by pulling them like you're drafting them. This will make the roving thinner and more easily draftable. In the video she's predrafting after she talks about staple length.
