Glass Tile Pendant
I finished my first pendant. I am quite pleased with it. My youngest wants me to make her one with a picture of her turtles. I have a great photo of one of her turtles, so I am making one for her. I don't have a bail at the moment for it though, so when I am done with the tile, it won't be finished until I have a bail.
Here is my first one. I didn't think to take a picture of the back, but I glued a pretty piece of scrapbooking paper on the back so it wouldn't be plain ol' white. I used a picture of my cat.

It came out really great. Now I'm inspired to try my copper foil.

Great job!!! What glue did you use on it? I've had glue issues and have seem to finally found the right glues to use. Great idea to use the scrapbook paper!
my fave supplier is sunmoonandcrafts on Etsy.

Amy, I glued the image to the tile using DecoArt Triple Thick glaze, and I attached the bail with E-6000. I coated the scrapbooking paper with the glaze and I'm not super-happy with those results. I was hoping the glue would level out, but it remained 'lumpy' (for lack of a better word -my brush strokes still show) I have read that something called Diamond Glaze is the best. But this was available at Michaels and I had a 40%off coupon and I was itching to get started....... I think a little practise might be all I need.
Pinokeeo, what do you mean by inspired to try copper foil? What have you got up your sleeve?
Thanks Tracy!!

That's really cool!! Can't wait to see the turtles as well!
I'm thinking I might be envisioning what keeo meant about the copper foil...possibly some sort of little ornate design glued onto the tile instead of a photo?

Without the advantage of seeing her sleeves, I would say her arms. Just a guess.

I like diamond glaze but it does tend to yellow over time. This is my fave supplier for all things tile, scrabble, etc )
http://www.etsy.com/shop/SunAndMoonCraftKits
I prefer her glaze over diamond glaze. I also use Gorilla glue or Gorilla super glue because sometimes the E6000 can pop off. Also the microglaze available in that shop is great for putting over the images.
Hope that helps! I like scrabble tiles best bc they're easier LOL
