Default Graduation accessories

My baby girl is graduating from elementary school at the end of the month. She already has her dress (a lovely 'little black dress' that makes her look about 18 ) and her shoes (I believe a grand total of $35 was spent for both!) but she wanted a pretty necklace to wear with it. I was so pleased when she asked me if I could make one for her. I had her pick out the colours she wanted and I finished it while she was at camp this week. -Instead of a big, expensive graduation trip, they go to a really fun camp in both grade seven and grade eight. They LOVE it.- She chose a blue/teal coloured bead to match the streak that she puts in her hair (and will have had freshly done for graduation). She had also mentioned something about a friend getting a clutch. I asked her if that was a "must-have" accessory. She said that it isn't, but it would be nice to have somewhere to keep her camera and her phone. While she was at camp I made her one to surprise her with on her return. I tried my best to get a fabric that coordinated with the blue/teal beads in her necklace. It doesn't show up well in the photographs, but that taffeta looks blue or green depending on how the light is hitting it. I got the tutorial here, if you want to make one yourself.

Here is the clutch:

I tried to get a close up to see the colour.

Here is the inside. What is that in there?

It's her necklace! She chose the colour scheme herself.

So, that is what I have been up to lately. I don't know if she wants a bracelet or earrings. But I'll do my best if she does.

Thanks for looking!!!!!

The necklace is stunning. Any girl would love to wear something like that.

And the clutch is very nice also. I'm sure that your daughter will be the envy of all of her friends.

Wow Angela! I'm impressed! You did a great job on the necklace and the clutch.

Did you giver her the clutch already?

Is she going to high school next year? 9th grade?

Thank you!
She was so tired from her crazy week at camp that I didn't get a fantastic reaction, but I understand and I know she does love them both.

Barb, the answer to all of your questions is "yes".
Yes, I gave it to her yesterday. She is happy with it and the necklace too, but she had seen that in progress, so it wasn't a surprise.
Yes, she will be entering high school in September.
Yes, in grade nine.
High school here goes from grade nine to grade twelve (is it like that everywhere?). You can stay for a fifth year if you haven't gotten all your credits, or if you did get all of your credits and want to raise some of your grades. (Or, of you just aren't ready to move on to post secondary yet! Kids LOVE the high school she will be going to and often stay for the fifth year just because they can. Weird, huh?)

It is a PA Day here today and she slept in until about 11:30 and is still bumming around in her jammies complaining that she is still tired....

High school here is 9th through 12th also. They don't have the option of another year though. That's pretty neat.
