Default Curtain thoughts

I have been in the process of redecorating or should I say decorating our living/family room and I have come to a hault because I can't find curtains that I like. Maybe I should get some nice wood blinds instead?
The current decor is greens and browns, had to go dark with 4 small kiddos running around.
I am not trying to spend a lot of money but I want the windows to look nice. Do you think I could pull off dark wood window blinds with no curtains, or maybe green sheer curtain with the wood blinds?
Once I get the living room straightened up I will take a few pictures.

Curtains with blinds might be too much, but I would need a pic.

After 4 years in our house we FINALLY bought curtains! Couldn't find any we liked and then I was potty training DD who was always in her underwear. Well a neighbor commented they were walking their dog and saw her - creepy!!!!! Bought curtains the very next day!

I just found wood blinds on Targets website, I may go that route but I will still post pictures in a bit.

I cleaned up a bit this morning before the kids woke up.
My plan is to recover the maroon and tan pillows in a lighter green, if I can't find ones I like in a store. The green pillows are new.

Idealy I like the wicker chest there but with kids it's not possible so it doesn't stay there it goes in the corner where I was standing taking pics. My dh wants to get a leather ottoman with storage.

Those are the windows I need changed, the current curtains need to go and we need a sturdier blind so my younger kids can't pick them off.
