Default My kitchen Redo

Our house is a major fixer-upper. Between buying the house and all the work that needed done before we could move in we were pretty broke before we even got to live here.

On of the major things we had to do was the water line. A new water line from the street to the house. Then we had to tear out the kitchen ceiling to replace the water line to the upstairs. When they put the new furnace in they also tore out part of the wall to put heat up to the bathroom.

Before picks:

Bad patching job we did on the wall.

I like the detail on the shelf over the door.
We had a horrible wall in the bathroom of the place we used to rent. I sponged it to disguise how awful it looked, that worked really well. I can't get over the difference a faucet makes!!!

I wasn't too sure about that shelf when I first looked at the door. But now I love it. I did at a grape leaf swag behind the bottles. That old faucet was so gross. I couldn't wait to replace it. I still can't get that old sink to look as white as I'd like.

Another neat feature in my house is the window boxes over the windows in the living room and dinning room. I found those fun to decorate. And I never have to worry about the kids breaking my stuff since it's up so high!! lol I think I have a pic of at least one of those.

Default Fabric Ceiling in Kitchen

I was looking at the fabric on the Ceiling of the kitchen. Did you put that up. I like the softness that fabric brings to a room. It helps soften noises and gives a hard surface a gentleness. Most fabric ceilings in kitchens are pulled tight, I like how you tried something different.

I'm from Australia, I have to say that's the first time I've seen fabric put on a ceiling like that. It must have taken you quite some time to do.
Very interesting concept.

Have a total clean and then get some nice wall stickers to renew the wall.

I know this thread is old, but I want to share my experience. When my wife and I made our kitchen renovation, we changed almost everything. I like our kitchen final look, but in my opinion, one of the best decisions was to install the backsplash tiling (we addressed Kitchen Designers Toronto and were satisfied with their work). It makes our kitchen look lighter and unique. If you have a dark ceiling, it is better to think about the additional lighting. I hope it will help someone!
