Default Polymer Clay - air dry? <3

So I don't have a small little toaster oven to bake the Polymer Clay in and its the first time I am using it. Is there a way you can air dry the clay? Or what are some ways you can bake Polymer Clay without it being dangerous? Cause I heard if you bake it in your oven it can be dangerous for your health.

Also does anyone know of a good air dry clay that comes in colors?
Thanks!!

On the Carol DuVall show, she used to put it in a regular oven all the time.

I'd love to see what you make when you're done. I've always wanted to learn how to make things with polymer clay. Well, not ALWAYS, but for a long time.

I see toaster ovens at garage sales quite a lot. That might be a way for you to get one and not spend too much.

I've put it in a regular oven too. But I used an old cookie sheet and didn't use that for food again. That was a very long time ago, I can't really remember any more details...

My daughter has something that she wants to do with polymer clay and I figured that I would just line a cookie sheet with foil (unless the instructions say no foil, of course...) and bake it in the regular oven.

You could also use parchment paper on your cookie pans.

Oh, that would be better than foil because it wouldn't get all crinkled. I'll have to remember that if my daughter ever does this craft. (she bought the clay already...with her own money... about two months ago.)

I just started working with it. I'm still pretty unskilled but I just put it in the oven on an old cookie sheet lined with parchment paper. It works great!

Black Friday is a great time to buy a toaster oven. I've seen them the past few years for about $20 in the Day-After-Thanksgiving sales. To think: That's less than 4 months away at this point.

Funny to find this topic now, because yesterday I was in a shop that sells all kind of stuff and by accident I've found a pack of air dry clay by Fimo(white).
It is 17.60 oz and was way cheaper than the regular Fimo.

I have allways worked with normal clay ( for real-life sculpture) and I found it difficult to work with Fimo because it just isn't moist enough(for me) and I am not used to make small sculptures. Also the baking... It just smells awfull and it burned the first time

Let's hope the air dry clay is the answer!

Good luck with it Sioh! Do you have any pictures of your sculptures?
