Default quilt question

I am working on my first quilt... and I know making the top piece will be no problem but I was wondering how to go about making the bottom piece? And how do I do the stuffing/filling part of it?

It's a layer system
After the top is pieced and sewn add the batting and back
the batting is sold in quilt sizes so you choose your quilt top to fit the batting size

Once you have the top done and getting the batting the size you need, then find what you want to back it with, I use muslin many times and you can get that wide so you won't have to put a seam in it. Then you can depending on the size, sew it all the way around inside out (like a pillow) and turn it right size (there is correct way to layer it), close the hole and then either tie it, or sew the layers together by machine (you will need a walking foot), or you can hand quilt it. You should be able to find all the info on-line. You will need a binding if you do it by layers on the machine.
You can also take it to a quilt shop where they quilt it for you.
