Default Crafts using color hot glue sticks?

Someone gave me a bag of red and green hot-melt glue sticks. I'm wondering if anyone here has any ideas for crafts that would use these. I hate to toss them out, but I can't think of what to make with them. I googled several combinations of words but didn't come up with any ideas for crafts using these bright glues.

You could put some parchment paper or a silcpad (sp) and draw random figures with it, like hearts, words, etc and then use them as embellisments for other stuff.

Or apply a generous ammount on a silcpad and before the glue cools off, stamp it so you get the image transfered there and use it on cards, etc.

Hope that helps.

In addition to RainbowCrafter's suggestion of stamping ,you could also punch a hole and use this as a pendant for a necklce.

I was searching for red and green hot glue sticks when your post came up. I know this post is from way back in January, but have you used or gotten rid of those sticks yet? I was wondering if I could buy them from you? My daughter made some quills for herself and a friend to write back and forth but found that the sealing wax they had disintegrated in the mail. They were told that a good substitute was hot glue. Her color is read and her friend's is green. :-) It is good to see them actually writing letters and sending them the "old fashioned way"

Yay for them! - writing letters and mailing them. It's getting to be a lost art.

I'll keep an eye out for red and green glue sticks. I wonder if there are any Christmas craft store websites where you could buy them.

Good luck!

Oh, and welcome to the Craft Forum ginnynoodle!

Default re:glue sticks

Ginnynoodle,

you aren't going to believe this ... but I was looking for something in my barn yesterday and found a box....opened it... and one of the things inside was the bag full of red and green glue sticks. Don't know how they ended up out there, but I have them. Are your girls still writing? Are you still interested in them? I have no idea if the craft stores still carry these things.

I never knew colored glue sticks ever existed.... I keep thinking using them for a stained glass effect somehow.
