Flower making
I am making my daughter two satin flowers and mounting them on a small canvas frame. The flowers are where u melt the edges of the fabric circles & then glue them all together. I used a candle to melt the edges.
The blue flower came out great! The off white one, not so good, the edges became dark from the flame and had soot on them. What did I do wrong, maybe this technique is only for dark colors!!

I am not familiar with this method - do you have pictures? My only guess would be that maybe you were too close to the candle and the material got too hot. Turning dark would be an indication that the material scorched (think a really hot iron). Maybe if you were to hold the material a bit farther away from the candle?

I'm going to try the technique again with a lighter! Hopefully no soot marks!
I'll send pics when I have completed the project!
