Does anyone have ideas or plans to do any kind of yard crafts or projects this spring or summer?

Good one!!

No, if that's what I meant, I would have titled it, "Crap happenings" or something similar. lol

I have a small metal table and two chairs that go with it. The table top had a ceramic 'grouted broken dinner plate' top when I bought it. There were dragon flies on it and I really liked the way it looked. The two chairs had the same thing on the seat.

But.... SOMEBODY left it all outside in the winter, which ruined it. A few years ago, I bought a bag of cement and some pretty stones to replace what was there. I put a big square tile, either porcelain or ceramic, in the center and filled in the rest of the space with cement and all of the kids helped me sink the stones down into the cement.

It would have looked great, except that the tile isn't centered perfectly. So almost every time I walk past that table, all I can see is the off-centered tile.

Well, I was in Grand Haven (a town on Lake Michigan) walking around to all the gift shops and outside of one of the shops was a table and chairs identical to mine.

They must have had to remove all the original stuff from that table too, because they replaced it with little tiles to make it into a checker board game on top. It was so cute. I took a few pictures of it because I'd like to do something similar with mine. If I can find the pictures, I'll post them.

I also have some cedar fence boards I got from someone on Craigslist. I started making a decorative fence with them last spring. Started. They're still sitting in my way in my shed. Maybe I need to stop going on Craigslist. lol

Well, I'll still be doing it. I'm a little scared. I haven't gone out there since.... early December? We have a large dog.

Instead of looking for the pictures of the other table, do yours and post those pictures!

I love the smell of cedar wood.....

I don't envy you having to do that job, Angela. We had to put our little sweetie to sleep last month, so this will be the first summer in 13 years that I won't have to pick that stuff up or clean it out of the treads of the kids' shoes.

Speaking of that, here's a cartoon I got in an email yesterday. Can't remember who sent it (one day is an awfully long time to have to remember something. lol)

I LOVE Calvin and Hobbes!!!!! I don't really understand whey someone edited it.... it used to say "doo" or something G-rated. (I have a lot of Calvin and Hobbes books)

I'm sorry to hear about your dog.

Thanks. She was a good dog and we had her for over 13 years, so we were pretty lucky to have her.

Are you talking about the editing in the picture I posted? I blurred out the word ''S#!+'' in case there are kids reading it.

My hubby has a bunch of Calvin and Hobbes books. I should read them. The cartoons of them that I've seen are always funny.

One of my favorites is The Far Side.

What I meant was that the original cartoon was g-rated. Somebody else took it and substituted "the s-word". I don't understand why someone would bother to do that.

You should definitely read the Calvin and Hobbes books! I think I'll dig mine out.... (Is "read" really the right word here??) I like The Far Side too. And Baby Blues.
