Default Project ideas

Hello everybody,

I am making a CD music compilations for friends and family in honor of women's history month last month. I have all the music burned and I have the CD sleeves to hold them. What I want to do is make a CD "book" out of each set. I have hole punched the sleeves to tie them to the covers.

I imagine the front and back covers will be board but I don't know what kind of board I should use.

I also designed a cover for the collection but cannot print on thick board. So I am not sure if I should print and glue it on or go a different route and do individual covers for each set (15 total).

My first thought was decoupage the printed cover design but I have never done that before and don't know if the ink will smear. Then I thought maybe individual collages but that might take a lot of time. My second thought was drawing the covers myself because I have done illustration before, also time consuming. But the 15 sets seems daunting no matter what I do and I want them sent out sooner rather than later.

Normally I'd just print a CD cover stick in it a case and be done. But this collection has 4 CDs hence the "book" and I want it to be more professional in look and I also want it to last. I don't do gift very often so I want the ones I do put together to be nice.

If you have any suggestions that would be awesome! Thanks.

Try printing it on peel and stick label paper. You should be able to find some at your local office supply store (office max or staples come to mind).

You could use paperboard or foam board for the front and back covers - depending on the look you want and how thick it needs to be. Paper board can be pretty sturdy. Once again, you should be able to find something suitable at an office supply store. Look for Presentation Supplies.

I have no suggestions, but I admire what you are doing.

Use 120 - 160 gsm super smooth printable paper, you will get a good finish and it won't be so bulky it won't fit in the case.
