Default Project Organisation

How do you keep organised? To-do lists? Especially if you don't have a space. I'm finding it hard to keep on top of the various things i want to make.
I need/want to:
knit an ice cream cone and cupcake for my son's birthday
finish reknitting a hat I gave my BIL for Christmas
knit a dress, capris & longies for my DD
knit myself a shawl for spring
sew a needle carry case for my on the go knitting projects
sew a few dresses and pants for my kids and my friends' kids

I make short term and long term To-Do Lists so that helps me stay on track but I also do a lot of spur of the moment crafting too.

Who told you I was organized???

That's sort of why I started the "January" craft thread, to help me keep my to-do list updated, etc. I just have a running to-do list, and do things as I have time. Everything I do is for fun, and for most of it I don't have a deadline.

As far as keeping my supplies organized?? Yeah, I'm still waiting on my crafting spot. Right now, everything is all over the place...closets, the garage, boxes in the dining room...sigh. Maybe that's why I never get much done??

I don't have a "craft room" so I have a "to do" list that is on a dry earse board hanging in the kitchen. I see it every day and it reminds me of projects that are in the works and have yet to be started. It helps me stay on track. I also make sure everything for scrapbooking is always put away in the same spot and all toghether, same with my knitting stuff.

I keep all of my to-do lists in a drawer in the kitchen. That's the most convenient place for me to find them.

Just yesterday I found the one I wrote March 3rd, 2005. See? How handy is that? Bonus: I had more than half of the things on that list finished and immediately crossed them off.

It was a good day.

Just kidding.

Seriously though, I try to only keep as much stuff around as I have space for. For example, I have very limited cupboard space in my kitchen. If I see something at the store I want, I think about where I'll put it. If there's not going to be space for it in a cabinet, I don't buy it.

When it comes to my scrapbooking and rubber stamping stuff though, I have run out of space in my s.b. room. So I'm emptying the small bedroom across the hall and I'm going to build some shelves in there to store extra stuff. Because....... (say it with me!) "When it comes to crafts, you can never have too much stuff!"

I keep to-do lists. And, my SIL and I talk back and forth regularly about projects.

As for physical organization, I don't have a craft room. I have a folding sewing table (one of those cheapie Sander sewing tables from Walmart - $99, I think) that is in the corner of the dining room. But, I overflow onto the dining room table often! And, I've taken over one of the linen closets in the house to store all of my fabrics.

I struggle with this also. We have a small house so I have a corner in my dining room that continues to grow outward and upward. Pretty soon I'm sure it will take over. I wish it was more organized though. I like to dabble in different things, so it seems like it's just a junk pile sometimes. I think I'm going to work on grouping it in categories and then a project "to do" list. Sometimes I don't bother crafting because it's so chaotic over there it seems like too much work to drag it out.
