That is a good idea! I never would have thought of that!

I think next time out near a vineyard I'll ask about it. I have thought of it in the past, just haven't gotten around to doing it LOL.. Guess I just need to go on some wine tastings!

downright: It takes quite a while for me to save up corks. I generally have all of my family saving their corks for me LOL. When I got to peoples homes I usually get about 5 or 6 of them that they've saved.
I was able to collect up a bunch when I worked for a banquet house/restaurant. Every night I worked I'd grab 20 or so!

Well back to painting.. I'll post some pictures soon of my garden updates. I'll have to go back and find my thread, it's been a while since I updated..

Christmas earrings!! Need to order the supplies ASAP in fact, my big show is at the end of October.

The next two weeks I have bracelets high on my to-do list. I got some new display materials (YAY!) so I need more stock to fill them up!!

Also I start teaching classes this week, so I'm finishing up samples and going through the curricula.

Music always, trying to write and learn new stuff.

Last, my project Friday made me want to play with chain more. So I'm going to go with the flow and see where that takes me.

My workspace (table/cabinet) is all assembled which means the crafting can begin in full force! One project down, many more to go!

You should do a nice thread, we like to see people's work areas!! I LOVE having an area in my house just for projects and crafting though! It's nice too that I can leave a project and come back to it without having to put it away or anything

I should have more corks in the next couple days. In the meantime I think I may work on a pillow or 2 and the garden. I'm saving up newspapers to make a layer in the garden that the weeds can't get through!
The plan is: newspaper, then some compost, then mulch. The nice thing is that the newspaper will break down over time and help fertilize the soil along with the compost and the mulch. Each year or so I'll just add another layer. People say it'll keep weeds at bay and the newspapers hold water better so I won't have to water the plants as much during the summer! YAY! oh and protect the roots from the extreme cold we get here!

Well I am a bit late in joining in, but think if I write things down maybe I will be more likely to finish them?

* Shoes for the girls for the wedding- asap! Want them DONE.
* Work on things to sell for Christmas bazaar- have some velour doll bodies and hats sewn up, but need to make heads, and stuff. Debating on sewing the pillowcases I have into dresses- just hard to figure out what size to make them.
* Found a "screen" at Pier One I could replicate, if DH agrees- basic 2 inch by 2 inch square frame, with fabric attached with velcro- SO easy to do- need to price out materials (wood, hinges, paint)- fabric I will get some stuff from the thrift store for cheap (prob. $15 for all I'd need)... I need to make 6 panels to span the corner for my craft space- and would need to keep material cost under $50... so my sewing area MIGHT be coming sooner that I thought!
* Make baby gift for my friend's shower on the 18th. (I have way to many ideas and need to narrow them down!)
* Dresses for girls for fall
* Project for "Back to School"

Ok better stop there and go get to work!

I got a pair of jeans hemmed last night. Luckily for me, when I pointed out that I am not good at hemming and I was doing the best I could, my daughter just shrugged and said: "As long as they fit. Who's going to be looking at the bottom of my jeans??" She's such a good girl!!
And I am still looking for shirts. I should have just bought them at Michaels. I can't even seem to be able to find any basic, crew-neck, short sleeved t-shirts in black and in white! I would have thought they would be jumping into my cart! Everything seems to be embellished or long sleeve or with a funky collar! All I want is two boring, plain, cheap, normal t-shirts.
I've started making a turtle pendant for my youngest. She has also asked me if I can make one with the Harry Potter, Deathly Hallows symbol. Why, yes! Yes I can! So I guess that has been added to my list.
I don't think I have accomplished anything else.

Angela, try a second-hand store like Goodwill or a consignment shop. Most of the stores around here stop selling short sleeved shirts and other warm weather wear around July. Then they stock-up on fall and winter stuff.

Have you thought about buying a simple pattern to make t-shirts? I don't know if they sell them or not.

Or, if your daughters have an old t-shirt that they don't like, you could rip the seams out and use it as a pattern.
