Default Has anyone made baby cuddle wrap or angel wrap out of fleece?

Hi everyone! New to forum, certainly not new to crafting or sewing, but I am now venturing into sewing for new gran-babies and that is so fun!
I would like to make a fleece wrap for my new grandson, expected anytime now, like the ones sold by great copy.com. I don't have time to wait for the pattern to come from the US, so I thought I would try to make my own, just kind of from looking at the picture.
Has anyone had any experience making fleece wraps for babies?

I don't have any words of wisdom on your project, but I think you and I shared a nice conversion in fabricland yesterday about our babies! Either that, or there are two ladies out there awaiting a grandson and winging it on a fleece cuddle wrap!

Hope you post pics of your work when your done, I'd love to see it!

Default regarding cuddlewrap

Nice to talk to you again, if it is you, are you working on receiving blankets as your next project?

Small world! What are the odds that you two would bump into each other in person and online like this!

What is a cuddle wrap?
Okay, I think I just got my answer. Is this what you are looking for?

Default fleece baby cuddle wrap

The pattern I am interested in is on greatcopy.com under their fleece patterns, called a cuddle wrap or angel wrap, kind of a semi-fitted wrap out of fleece, really cute, I'm not sure how to gauge the size without actually having the pattern. Bought a newborn sleeper, hoping to use that as a guide for sizing?

Yes I am, just cut them up today! It's so funny to see someone local on a forum...I'm usually one of few Canadian's, let alone seeing someone from the same town

Nope, that's like a moby wrap...which I had for ds#2 and LOVED by the way...I think she's talking more about something like this

I found a pattern on the Simplicity website for what they call a blanket wrap you'd probably find this pattern locally, and downsize it if you need to for the little man.

I made something sort of like that for my friend years ago.(she lives in the North Bay area now too!) I used a fleece blanket. I got the directions from a magazine. They called it a bunting bag. I wonder if I still have the instructions.....

Default baby cuddlewrap

The simplicity pattern could work with some modifications, I kind of like a split in the legs for car seat, but I could work with it. Between a wrap and a bunting bag is kind of the idea I was looking for. I sure appreciate the help and the ideas. I may have to pick up a pattern, just for idea of sizing for newborn, then modify to what I want.

While looking for something else, I found my instructions for the one that I made. If I can get to my scanner tomorrow, I'll scan the picture for you, if you'd like. It is star shaped, so it might work in a car seat. My friend said that her daughter in it reminded her of "Maggie" from The Simpsons when she is in her snowsuit
