Cool Impromptu Kids Costume

During the school year most parents have gotten the letter from school saying the class is doing a project. These projects normally call for the child to be dressed up and look nice. This letter normally comes home only three to four days before the day they are doing this. Well depending on the area or place, many things can be done to help the child to fit right in with their class mates.

Say the topic is Egypt…Some simple things you can do are as follows.
1. Grab a white or off white-pillow case…Yes a simple pillow case can make an amazing little toga type dress for the girls. You are going to want to cut a V into the neck, try not to make the V to large or it will dip to low and look a little abnormal.

2. You will need to cut out arm holes. This is pretty simple if you have the child lay on the pillow case. That way you will know where their arms will be. An, then wow! You have a little dress.

3. Next you will need to get some large construction paper, from which you will fashion a collar. This will allow the child to dress up and make it look Egyptian. Something like this. The kids can also have a gold or silver belt placed around the waist to give it a little more flare.

4. For the boys…they are a bit harder and can seem like there is nothing you can do for them. That would be wrong. You can take another pillow case and make it into a fashionable skirt/lion cloth, by cutting the top half off. Most schools will not allow the boys to go without a top, so I would make sure they have a T-shirt to cover their chest. Read more!!

My daughter wore this for her outfit. Made from a simple dress pattern with addons..

Great ideas!! My son made an Egyptian collar in art class this year that would be perfect for this type of costume.
