Default leggings help?

I've been looking all day for fabric to make leggings! I don't want to use normal knits that will stretch out but am having a hard time finding solid cotton lycra fabrics !
I shop mostly fabric dot com and was wondering if anyone knows what fabric i would be buying there for a nice stretch that doesn't over stretch?

thanks !

Do you have a pair that you like? Maybe check the blend percentages on it... and search from there? I know that on thefabricfairy.com has TONS of knits and I bet she'd be able to help (or someone there)

Good luck!

I think most people use lightweight knits? You mean for adults or for kids? For kids most ppl use babyleg type stuff which is really just socks.

I don't think she is talking about leggings like that, but pant leggings.

The best thing to use is a med. to heavy weight cotton lycra OR I have also found I like 95% cotton 5% spandex blend for leggings. The hard thing about online is you won't know what it feels like until it arrives, there are many different weights, but I have had good luck with this blend, hope this helps! www.naturesfabrics.com also offers a good selection of knits.

There are some cotton/lycra knits (and there is also nylon/lycra tricot - like is used for swim/dance wear), though cotton/spandex is probably easier to find. The higher the percentage of lycra or spandex, the less likely the fabric is to over-stretch.

Good luck finding fabric you like!
