Question Stuffed Animal Advice Needed!

Hello! I am wanting to make a stuffed animal out of my favorite anime creature. He is Momo from Avatar: The Last Airbender for any who may know, and for those who don't, he's a cross between a lemur and a bat. The advice I'm seeking is (for now) in two parts: the first is, what sort of material should I use to make a lifelike lemur stuffed animal and second, how can I make it poseable?

The link below has a few pretty good reference pictures for what I'm wanting to turn into a stuffed animal.

You will want to use a fake fur in the feel/color you want- http://www.crscraft.com/products/vPr...=Fabrics&class=

Here are some just for ideas... never purchased from here, just did a search....

As for making it adjustable, I know for making my waldorf dolls posable you use pipecleaners wrapped in wool, and you attach them together in the center of the body- but these are usually small- like 6 inches...

If you want it jointed, then there are special metal sockets, for ball/joint limbs, and might be away to use the pipecleaner idea with them...

Not sure if that helps, but hope you can get some more advice

I suggest searching around online or in sewing books for some basic animal patterns that match parts of what Momo looks like...
I.e you could probably use a basic head pattern for a teddy bear for Momo's head and if you can find the ear pattern for a rabbit you'll be set head wise...
other then that you'll just have to use trial and error with making your own pattern...
I suggest getting some cheap material to test out making any areas your unsure of and doing just a loose straight stitch (by hand 'cause it's easier to get out then by machine) to get the general feel, that way if the trial piece works you can just take out the stitch and pin it to the material your actually going to use.
I tend to go with the whole making my own pattern thing because I find it easier, but that's just me... (though I still go around and look at all the patterns I can find both google wish and on Deviantart just to get a general idea of what I should do, 'cause it's not a good idea to anything completely clueless)

Also welcome to the craft forum nice to see another anime fan on here
(I may just have to attempt making a stuffed animal of him myself now that the thoughts in my head... soon as I finish my pile of unfinished projects... I find it hard to stay on one project for too long )

Oh yay! Another anime fan! Thank you both for the advice. I think I'm going to attempt to make a basic jointed skeleton to start with, and probably a rough draft version of the stuffed animal skin to give me a good idea of how each piece should fit together before I do the fur... Thank you both!!!
