Default two (fairly) new dresses

Well, as part of the challenge to do something for each category, I decided to post a couple of my dresses. The blue lightning one I finished a couple weeks ago. The tiger one I just finished last night. Now to decide which material to use next.....

I really like the tiger one...What pattern did you use? This is kinda the type of dress I want to make for the summer. I hate trying to find things that fit me..

I like the style and cut. They look like they'd be comfortable to wear.

Nice job gremlin!!

Thanks all. They are very comfortable dresses. Because of scar tissue (my intestines ruptured, and the incision did not heal well), I cannot wear anything with a waistband. Many many (many many many) years ago, I found a levi dress that I liked and that was fairly comfortable. When it wore out, I took it apart and used it to create a pattern for this dress. It took several modifications, but I finally came up with a pattern that I liked, that was comfortable, that looked halfway decent, and was fairly easy to sew. I've been making my own clothes since before high school. Except t-shirts. Those I would by once in a while. Now, I just buy the big over-sized t-shirts to sleep in. And I only wear dresses (pants and shorts have too strong of a waist band - they hurt too much to wear).

Wow, reading your last post and knowing that you came up with the pattern yourself just made the dresses that much more impressive!
I like the lightning fabric.

I was hoping that the lightning dress would inspire a few rain clouds. No such luck. It's 8:30 pm here right now, and still 102 degrees. I hate summer!
