Default wanting to make babies coming home outfit

Well i should start off by saying that i haven't ever sewed anything other than a pillowcase in high school. But i am open to learn and really want to. I also want to make a coming home outfit for my daughter when she is born. I have 2 other little girls and would like to make matching dresses for all. Anways i have a picture of a cute one that i just fell in love with and it looks easy to me. I could be wrong but not sure. I was wonder if there is any way of making a pattern from just a picture or do i just have to wing it? I have a sewing machine but no pattern. I have included a picture...does anyone have any ideas on how to make this? maybe there is a pattern online that im just not seeing. thanks!

Oh yeah, that's really cute. Don't know about the pattern problem. A friend of my mom's can do stuff like that (she's sooo good at sewing). I bet you could. You might check around on the web... Hmmm, give it a try. And them let us know how it works! I bet your baby will look adorable in it!

I know my mother always tore clothes apart and made them the pattern. Do you have this one Katie, or is it one on a site somewhere?

Even if you don't want to tear them apart, allow for seam (usually 3/8). You can draw from them. When I was a teenager, my mother used paper grocery bags and placed them under the pattern. Once we made halter tops.

You never know until you try!
