WELL PUT!!! Those 'things' that come with machines are not seam rippers & a big part of why so many people fear them. I have a nice Dritz one that is OKAY, but I have like 4 clover ones (I tend to miss place stuff!) and they are buy far my favorite! They also don't seam to dull. I use them all the time & have had one of them for 4 or 5 years & it still works great!

I would just fix the zipper. With my clover seam ripper I have torn stuff like that & SERGING! I serger a skirt onto a dress inside out . It doesn't take me more then 15-20 minutes while talking on the phone or watching TV.

How about a bib, baby slipper shoes, a paci holder, embelish a shirt/onesie, and/or ebellish a prefold or burp cloth.

A boo boo bag? Make a square roughly 5.5 inches (finished bag will be 5 inches or so) Turn and topstitch and leave a little hole to put rice in, sew it up and viola you've got a nifty boo boo bag for those hurts and ouches!

Just saw this...wondering if you did anything yet? I'd cut it up and make a cute flannel 'blankie' out of it...

I ended up just ripping out the zipper and finishing the sleep sack. Sadly, it took me so long to get it finished that my son is now too long for it!!! It looks nice, though, huh? The arms are knit, with ribbed knit for the neck and cuffs. Upside-down zipper to make diaper changing easier.

It's darling...if your son is too long for it already keep it for a gift for someone later. I love sleep sac's...
