Default Pyrography Woods

Does anyone out there in Woodie Land know of a supplier of Basswood (an American timber) that is used sometimes by pyrographers?
Also does anyone know of any Australian woods that are suitable for pyrographic art work?

Welcome CA!

Have you asked this on the Woodworkingtalk.com? It's also owned by the same owner of this site. We have a few woodworkers here, but not many I'm afraid. Try here:

Hopefully they will help. Try the "General" forum there.

Where do you live? If you are not in Australia, there will be difficulties with the Australian Customs when trying to bring it in. They charge fumigation expenses, etc. I was wondering if there was an Aussie supplier of Basswood. If so, then I wouldn't have to grapple with the bureaucrats.

You can google australia and basswood supplier and see what comes up. You can also find a local wood shoppe and see if they supply it or other places that might...
