Default wood bowl, baby spoon, more stuff

I was asked to carve a small wooden bowl. In my opinion, it did not come out well, but the recipient was very happy with it, so I thought I'd run it up the flagpole here. I also carved a very small spoon(5 inches total), as well as a few more regular spoons and some more ornaments.

My carvings.

And you do all this by hand?!

I think the bowl turned out really well. I really like the ornaments that you make too. What type of wood are you carving?

The spoons remind me of the ones my grandmother would smack us with when we were kids.

It all looks great Pinokeeo, but I really like that last ornament!

The last ornament is my favorite too, but I really like the bowl.... and the spoons.... and the other ornaments... and, oops, that's all. Nice work pinokeeo!

How long does it take to make a bowl like that?

The bowl was a few days of work. I want to make more, but I need to figure out a way to make them a little faster. The spoons only take about half an hour and the ornaments take anywhere from a couple of hours to a day.

Most of my carvings are basswood, but I also use sugar pine, willow and cherry. I've tried other woods, but these are my favorites.

And yes, Kurban, they are all carved with just a knife and a couple of gouges. I do most of the sanding with mini rasps or nail files, and occasionally I will drag out the dremel but it gets messy so I don't like doing it.
