I am very impressed with your eggs! That is something I would love to learn. Wood burning is something that my Dad did when I was much younger. He had a wood burning tool and he would carve a design into a board then use the woodburning to color and shade it. Some of the "pictures" he made were fairly detailed and looked like sepia toned photographs. Unfortunately, I no longer have any of those.
On another note, I like your knitting board. I have a full set of plastic ones - both the flat panel ones and the round looms. There are different methods of wrapping so you can get different looks. I've made a couple of scarves as gifts. If you want an extra bulky scarf (snow scarf for a friend who was spending several months in Canada a couple winters ago) you can use a bulky yarn, but also lay a thick yarn across the stitches before you flip the row. I used Red Heart Yarn for the actual wrapping, but a a thick decorative yarn (about as big around as a Sharpie pen) to lay in the middle.
