Another power tool chick here.

These are my latest. Shawl pins. No finish on them, just burnished. The first one is zebrawood and the second is myrtlewood.

Very nice!

I'd rub on some boiled linseed oil to preserve the wood and bring out the grain.

Well, so far I've only traded them for other things that I wanted. I'd like to sell them, but I need to make more. So far, these are the only two I've made. I have some bocota and some wild cherry that I want to try.

DM, will the linseed oil transfer to the yarn when they are in use? That's the reason I didn't put a finish on them.

Once absorbed and rubbed down, I highly doubt it. However, a coat or two of spray lacquer will achieve close to the same results and will not discolor fabrics.

Thanks. One of the things that I did notice is that the more it gets used, the more polished it becomes, so I'm wondering if I need to put any kind of finish on it.

I'm going to try the spray lacquer and see how it responds.
