My husband has the toaster set on the lowest number. I always SAY, "You're bread is warmed". But I'm THINKING, "You could have microwaved it for 10 seconds and got the same results". To each his own.

It's kind of funny though because when I'm done with the toaster, I leave it set on high. He leaves it set on #1. So when I make toast, it pops up when it's still warm bread and I have to turn it up and pop it down again.

When he makes it and forgets to readjust the dial, he has to start over.

We used to have a four slice toaster and I always thought it would have been smart for us to have 'assigned slots'. You take one side, I'll take the other. But it couldn't work because one side sometimes burned it even more than what I like.

I like the blackburger idea.

When it's smokin', it's cookin' an' when it's black, it's done.

Not that I would actually eat it, but it sounds good.

I don't like anything burned, not even marshmallows.

My kids love to torch marshmallows, then eat them!
These same kids like their "toast" like Barbs husband.
Strange.

I think I can safely (and proudly) say that I have never had a blackburger. The odd over toasted bun, but never an over charred burger. A little black on a hotdog, however, I like!

Barb: I feel you! I go through the SAME thing! I even crack jokes about it, since hubby like's it the same way yours does LOL!! AND he'll leave it low and I'll leave it high, if we're making separate. Although usually we make breakfast together, and I usually do the toast. I actually do his first since if I do it first it'll toast his too much since it's already hot....

I LOVE to burn the marshmallow, take the burned layer off, munch that and then reburn it. I've gotten about 4 layer LOL.. I also like just melty marshmallow with a bit of chocolate instead of straight smores..

I love toasted bread very much! I love the crunch! But not a burned one! Bitter!

I have to say I think Italian bread toasted with some butter is definitely in my top 3 spots for ultimate comfort food to me!

Try toasting the marshmallow and then dipping it in melted chocolate. That's yummy!
