Here's one of my favorites:

Meaty Spaghetti Sauce

1 lb ground beef
1 lb bulk Italian sausage
1 med. green pepper, chopped
1 med. onion, chopped
8 garlic cloves, minced
3 cans (14.5 oz each) Italian diced tomatoes, drained (drain very well or your sauce will be watery)
2 cans (15 oz each) tomato sauce
2 cans (6 oz each) tomato paste
1/3 Cup sugar
2 TBL Italian seasoning
1 TBL dried basil
2 tsp dried marjoram
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper

(if you don' t like sweet sauce just omit the sugar, or use a little less)

Brown meat until longer pink, drain.
Transfer to 5 qt slow cooker. Stir in remaining ingredients. Cover and cook on low for 8 hours.

Serves 12

Because this makes so much I freeze half for a second meal or I'll make lasagna with it. If I have the time I'll go ahead and put the lasagna together and freeze it.

This one sounds good! I'm thinking I could substitute tvp for the meat.

If I can remember all of it.

Mexican Crock Pot Chicken:

3-4 pieces chicken breast (can be frozen)
1 packet taco seasoning (do NOT add the water...I just add enough water to make it paste like)
1 can black beans
1 can corn (drained) I like the mexi corn
1 cup salsa (we use hot...just depends on how spicy you like things)

put all that stuff in the crock put and make sure it's all mixed up well.

cook on high 3 hours or until chicken can be pulled apart with a fork

pull chicken apart (shredded)

put 1 package (8oz) cream cheese in...mix well...cook for another half hour (or eat right away if you want we've done that)

we use jalepenos, cheese, onions, whatever you like on top of mexican stuff...serve with tortilla chips

The easiest recipe in the world, and deceptively good:

Slice beef smoked sausage into bite-size rings. Dump into crockpot with 1 jar of meat-flavored pasta sauce and sprinkle with Italian seasoning. Turn on LOW for 8 hours, or overnight (It is so very good the next day!). Serve with bread.

Anyone have a recipe for ketchup? I heard you can make it in a slow cooker.

Thanks!

You know, I think I have one in my over-stuffed "to try" file. Let me see if I can dig it out.
