Greetings from some guy in Louisiana
Hello
I am a 33 year old male and I have been making things since I was a kid. Some things I have made fall into what people typically call "crafts" and some of them are more just generic hand-made things. I mean I've made everything from Candles to knives to simple hand-woven textiles to beadworks to simple knitted items, and really LOTS of different things (no point in listing everything I've ever made). The exact line between what is and is not a craft is kind-of arbitrary anyway. I also like to cook and grow things (especially trees for some reason).
I was married (first marriage) last June to my wife who I love dearly. I play guitar on the praise team at our church. Been playing guitar since I was 17, but I was playing keyboard all the way back to when I was a little kid. I still play keyboard sometimes, but I like guitar better.
As far as working goes I'm something in-between disabled and not disabled. In other words no job (not even a part time job) for which I qualify will keep me with my limitations for any length of time but I'm able to do far too much to get disability either. I've been working on finding a solution for about seven years now. I'll figure it out eventually.
Lately I've been trying to get started making things for sale online. What limited income I had been earning from odd jobs, collecting scrap metal, and the occasional attempt at a "normal" job has more or less dried up at the moment. Never at any time have I not done what I could to better myself. It just isn't my nature to sit idle or give up and not try. That isn't the reason I'm joining, though. I was planning to find and join a crafts forum anyway and just haven't gotten to it until now.
