I taught myself a couple of years ago with one of those books you see, "teach yourself to knit" I have found there is alot of tutorals online and most yarn stores are very helpful, most of the women that run then are very nice and dont mind showing you a thing or two, and most have classes you can take.

Hello again! I have to keep this forum on my "to do" list and see what is being posted more often!

Diana, you are quite close, in Emmaus! What are you working on currently? I have a few unfinished projects that I must force myself to complete before picking up something new, but I'm always interested in what new and exciting things others are working on.

I am not in a rush it is going to be an anniversary gift for my sister & brother-in-law in November. I have also been knitting pretty burp cloths for my niece to use for the new baby due any day now. Have you checked out the new fiber arts store in emmaus yet? They have some beautiful (but expensive) yarns. What are you currnetly working on? I love new ideas...lol

Hi...I'm new here too and from PA! The dress you made is so cute and the little girl is a sweetie!
The "tree of life" afghan you gave the link to, is beautiful! You'll have to post a pic so we can see it when you are finished. what color are you using to make it?

Welcome! Beautiful work! I don't knit but do have some mittens my grandmother made for my kids (now grown). During our BIG snow (lasted one day!) my grandkids wore them. My grandmother passed the knitting talent to my oldest sister tho.

Hi Crafters, and Diana!!

Thanks for the link to the Tree of Life afghan - looks beautiful. I'm trying to commit to finishing up already started projects right now including: a pair of wool mittens, a knitted leaf pattern afghan, and a couple of cotton dishcloths. Then I'll feel free to start something brand new!!
I gave up Facebook for Lent so I haven't been checking anything on the internet for a while - sorry I missed your post, Diana. I'll have to take a little jaunt up to Emmaus to see that shop. Quakertown has a new yarn store on the main drag, too, that I have yet to set foot into. I think it is called Juniper Yarns - it is down near where all the antique shops are.
OK - keep working and have fun!!

I will have to make a trip to Quakertown to check out the new store. I love going to yarn or any type of craft store I can spend hours just browsing and coming up with ideas. Let me know when you plan to come to Emmaus and we can grab a cup of coffee.
