Default I love to sew!

When the sewing machine is working well and I have all the right equipment and materials, I love to sew - as long as it's not making costumes that have to be finished right away. I am not fond of making clothing that has to be fitted and the person it has to fit is not available when I need them.

I love to make teddy bears out of minky fabric and sock monkeys. I also love to make baby bibs and coordinating burp cloths as well as baby quilts.

I have pieced a lot of quilt tops and am getting better at making the seams match. Hand quilting is not in my list of favorite things because it's too tedious for me. I have tied a few though.

In the economic crunch I decided to make wall hangings or table runners for my children this year for Christmas. I liked doing that and felt very creative. They liked it, too.

Hi Kathryn! My husband & I did a handmade Christmas in 2008 - it was one of the funnest Christmases we'd ever had! It really encouraged our friends & family to do the same

Welcome to the forum, Kathryn! I love your name! Most beautiful name in the world, don't ya think? It's my name, too. Only I spell it different, and most people call me Katie. Great to have you with us!

Welcome! I'm going to get into sewing one of these days. I have 2 projects to finish before I can add anymore though. We have an old sewing machine from DH's mom, from her mom and her mom... It works, but it's a beast and breaks a lot... I would like to get a newer one, maybe with time though..
You'll love it here! I look forward to getting to know you more!
