Hi everyone! I have been doing crafts off and on for several years. I stopped selling my crafts several years ago because it got too expensive. I was in a craft mall but the monthly cost was costly and eating up most of my profit. I made post people and other holiday wood crafts. My favorite crafts to make are for Halloween.

I went to a craft mall a few months ago and realized how much I miss doing my crafts. Guess what? I made a spare bedroom into my new craft room. I've gotten hooked on painting brick pavers. It's very relaxing and I don't have to ask my husband to cut wood out for me.

Does anyone else make post people or paint on brick pavers? I haven't seen much of either in the craft malls around here. Do you think it would be very profitable (before I put much money into it)? It would be nice to hear from someone else that does this. There isn't too many people around here that do wood crafts.

Hi Mona. Welcome!

I've never seen the painted brick pavers, but I've seen the smooth, rounded stones that are painted like a cat or other animals. Those are cute, but I'd love to see one (or more) of your painted pavers. Maybe you'll inspire one of the talented painters here to try it.

Welcome to the forum Mona.

I feel a little silly because i have not idea what post people and brick pavers are. Do you have photos, or can you explain them to me?

Post People are made out of landscaping timber. There is a picture of a witch and a frankenstein in my album. I've also made a santa, snowman and a reindeer. I don't have any pictures of my pavers yet. They are keyhole pavers that are used to make patios, driveways, etc. I paint them to look like ladybugs, dogs, cats, snowmen, etc. When I get some pictures I'll add them to my album.

I just had an epiphany and Googled keyhole pavers. I found some else's snowman. That is cool! (Hahaha! Pun not initially intended, but left on purpose!)
Hubby knew instantly what post people were. I like your Frankenstein monster.

Hey Mona! Welcome! I guess I could make block people. I have some extra 2 x 4's. Ummm.........I'd like to see these painted pavers.

I have no idea what sells and what doesn't. But, we do have some really great crafters here that sell their work.

Is it sale, sell, or sail??? Heh. I just through in sail. But, I'd like going sailing today, if I didn't have a jeep for sale. This silly stuff is for my crew here, especially DM. DM is the spell/grammar catcher.

Mona, I LOVE the Frankenstein and witch! They're so cute. They are something I would buy at a craft sale. Do you have pictures of the other block people you made?

I haven't seen any painted brick pavers, but it reminds me of a post someone made here last year. They asked about making a lady bug out of cement that was molded in a round bowl. I would try it, except that I wouldn't be able to paint it to look like a real lady bug.

Default Thanks for the compliments

To Downrightart and Barb,

Thank you for your compliments. I'll take some pictures of the other post people I have soon. I just started painting the pavers, so none of them are done yet. When I'm done I'll get some pictures up. If interested you can go to www.bricksforu.com for some examples. I can't remember the lady's name right off hand but she paints pavers and she's very very good. I hope mine turn out half as good as hers. Back to painting. See ya later.

Mona, your Frankie and witch are totally awesome!
Now you have me thinking of how to dress up a REAL LONG fence up the driveway!
Although I'd better not mention it to the wife yet....
I have too many other things do finish here first.
Speaking of which, there's a 4x8 sheet of floor waiting for me to install it.... *sigh*
