As long as you were the person who took it, it doesnt matter if u took it in 1972. LOL However, if photography is something you like to do u m ight want ot use this challenge as a way to push yourself and take a new pic. Thats one reason I want to do it. I already have in my head the photo I want to take....just gotta get it DONE.

Now I have a question. Does the photo have to be taken specifically for this theme, or if we have a previously taken shot that is perfect can we use that as long as we are the ones who took it?

I didn't think I would be able to come up with anything for this but a recent happy accident fits the summer theme I think...

The colors together just seem happy and summer like. Anyway heres what happened:

The actual photo was shot with a Sony MVC-FD91 (This camera uses floppy disks to record photos & it is less than 1MP) but the odd color is from printing it. This is a scan of the print. It was printed with the Sony Mavica Printer and the paper was really old so Im not sure if it was the paper or the printer but I really like it.

That's a cool picture! I like how it almost goes down the center of the flower.

When I saw it, I thought of spring & summer. Spring because of the pastel color and summer because of the bright yellow.

I was at an art gallery in Ludington a couple years ago. The owner had a huge print, framed, of a bolt of lightning coming down over a lighthouse. It was an incredible shot.

When he told us how it happened, I was even more amazed. I hope I have the details right. His dad was using a film camera with a 24 exposure roll. It was a heavy storm and he was just taking random shots, hoping to get at least one bolt of lightning.

He was disappointed when he went home because he hadn't been able to get a pic of the lightning. But when he developed that roll of film, to his surprise, the last picture was the best he had ever taken.

I'll try to find a picture of it online. Maybe he has a website for his art gallery and will have a picture of that picture.

It was incredible. The background was pitch black and all you can see is the huge, flared bolt of lightning as it's illuminating the lighthouse below. The shot of a lifetime.

Barb,
Lightning shots are fun. The best one I ever took was on the 4th of July a few years ago. I was expecting to get fireworks but it stormed instead. It was over water with idk some sort of pipes that the lighting was behind. You can see it here http://fav.me/d1hzydi. It was my last shot too. Though being digital I knew I had gotten the shot. Then it started to rain.

You're welcome Katy! I'll remind you every now and then too, if I need to.

Our "summer fun" usually consists of going to my parents' cottage. But we haven't been able to get there yet We seem to have something going on every single weekend from now until September!!! So we have been having the "summer of laziness". Which I have to admit, I am enjoying! I may have to submit an old picture... unless I am able to organize myself enough to plan the day trips that I really, really want to do (take?). I guess that makes this kind of a double challenge for me!

Barb, I hope you find that picture you mentioned. It sounds amazing.
Sarah, don't you just love happy accidents? That picture turned out really neat!

Cool Pictures

Here are two I had...They really do make me thinks Summer!

We have a few wild rabbits that roam around in our yard. This is Max(yea we named the rabbits LOL) I edited the picture a little to make it look a little different then the original print. This was taken about a week ago not long after we had a storm.

I have always loved Lillie's, these are some that grow right outside of my house. They only bloom during the summer, around the 4th of July. They have a deep red color but again I edited it a bit, I like the brighter colors a bit better. This pic was taken right after a rain shower we had.
