Yesterday we went over to Grand Haven, a small town on Lake Michigan and took some pictures of the light houses.

The sun was shining and the sky was blue where we were, but there were dark clouds out over the lake. It was in the low 20's °F, but it wasn't as windy as usual..... until you got a little ways out on the pier.

#5 ~ This is taken from as close to the end of the pier as I could get without getting splashed or falling into the lake. To me, some of the ice looks like milk that's spilling over the edge of the roof.

Mr. and Mrs. Mallard were telling jokes and quacking each other up. Then Mr. Mallard saw me standing there and yelled.......



"Duck!!"









If I can find the pictures from last winter, I'll post them if anyone wants to see them. They're taken at the same light house, but the lighting is completely different so the pictures look nothing like these. Not better or worse, just different.

What a difference! There isn't ice all over everything in these ones. You are right that the place looks very different. Amazing what a difference lighting makes. I need to learn how to take nice pictures.....

One year we went and the ice and snow was built-up to just beneath the arches in the black metal frames.
