Default For Crocheters

Here's something I came across on a website that I thought might be of interest to anyone who crochets or knits(?).

The website is:

www.sciplus.com

I think Elaine (Charmedp3) listed this site on another thread.

Anyway, in the search box, type in 'charade tape' or 'festival tape'.

This is the description they give:

Rainbow Fabric...Tape...Stuff

What is it? It's called Ticker Tape™, and it's a velvety nylon fabric, slightly stretchy and yarn-like, but flat, like tape. And light enough to be crocheted, we think. Cold-water washable. And it's from Italy, so it's really pretty. Whatever it is, it's by Moda-Dea™ and mighty craft-friendly. Approx 1/4" wide, you'll get (67) yards of it that segue through a series of hues. The Festival Tape morphs through purple/red/turquoise. The Charade Tape blends red/green/orange/blue/purple.

37619 CHARADE TAPE $2.75 EACH
37618 FESTIVAL TAPE $2.75 EACH

FWIW

Barb

that will take you to the actual item.

Actually, Barb, you are correct to assume that this would be good for crochet.I own a similar item of an unknown company and I have found that it's great for use with larger crochet hooks. I have not used it for knitting but do not think that it would be great to knit. If you use it my only advice is to keep stitches loose or the "tape" pulls itself taut and distorts. great for granny squares, but becomes very heavy when crocheted.... good for outdoor blankets or for a decorative trim.
