Question Yarn Prices

Has anyone else noticed a price increase at Walmart on the Red Heart Super Saver Yarn? Both of my local Walmarts increased it from $2.28 to $2.48. The other yarns have remained the same price. Anyone know why?

There is only one WalMart in the Phoenix area that still sells yarn, material, and craft supplies. The others all got rid of their craft departments. It is very frustrating. WalMart started carrying the yarn and material and priced it lower than the craft stores around them. The craft stores went out of business or moved away from the WalMart stores because they were losing all their business to Walmart. Then WalMart hiked the prices. Then they got rid of the departments altogether. Now, if I want yarn, material or any other crafty item, I have to go clear to the other side of town or order it online.

How frustrating!!!

It's always so sad to see craft/fabric stores close. They used to be so common. Nowadays there seems to be only a few national chains and the rare craft section at Walmart.

Thank goodness for online craft supply shops... but there's nothing quite like shopping in store for supplies. That's really the most fun!

I understand! Even JoAnn's doesn't have a large supply anymore.

Out of curiosity, where do you shop online at Rasha?

Funny enough I'm a big fan of ebay. Fortunately I live near all of the big box craft stores, but when I want something a little harder to find ebay is a great way to go.

What about you? Where are your favorite places to shop for craft supplies?

It's just the same ole place. JoAnn's.

I've never done the ebay thing. My first thought was, "Rasha is going to say ebay."

When I shop for craft supplies it's usually someplace like Wacky Willie's or American Science and Surplus.

Actually I have a Craft Warehouse about twenty minutes from here.
