Oh my gosh. What a miracle that he's doing better and coming home. He must be a very strong man. God bless him.

This quilt is such a thoughtful gift. You did an awesome job on it. Your dad is going to love it.

Love both of the quilts! Great job!

I'd like to do something, just coming up empty-handed, and Father's Day is tomorrow . . .. guess he'll be getting something late this year!

Very beautiful quilts both of you!

I'm very glad your father is slowly recovering. That reminds of my friends mom. She fell down a flight of stairs 2 years ago and had a very bad spinal injury. She's quadriplegic now. When it first happened all the doctors said that "this is it" kinda stuff. The family thought she was gonna be gone. But, she's slowly making recovery. They even has a special bed now that can stand her upright, which helps with circulation and digestion. They have her standing up for about an hour now, which is huge. She can wiggle her toes and move her legs and arms a bit. She can kick when told to and can feel tickling a bit.
Anyhow, I'm very glad you haven't lost your father and you have more time with him. I hope he continues to make progress.

Thanks... He kissed my mom today ! And started to vocalize this weekend. Hard to believe it's been 2 months, life def. went upside down, and is slowly putting itself back to normal.

Well, I guess I am officially dropping out of this challenge I can't think of a thing. I have no motivation either, and since Father's Day has passed.........
Hopefully I'll find my motivation and have an idea for July.
Besides, I can't compete with these amazing quilts. So much thought went into those.
Personally, I think that if nobody else enters, they should bend the rules just this one time and give both of you the prize. But that is just me.....

This is a project I saw on a craft show years ago. On tv, they made it with a small paper machet box. Any little container with a lid works. The more pictures you want to use, the deeper the box has to be.

These are pictures of my son-in-law and grandson, Ryan. I had Ryan draw a couple pictures to put in the tin also. When his dad comes to pick him up tomorrow, he'll give it to him for a belated Father's Day gift.

You'll need:

-A container
-pictures
-ribbon (a color that coordinates with your pictures)
-colored paper
-scissors or any tool to cut the pictures and paper to the size you need
-double sided tape

For this I'm using a CD tin I got in a package at a yard sale last year.

I measured the size of the circle I needed to cut and made the pictures about 1/4" smaller than the inside of it. You could also use a bowl or trace around the outside of the container you're using.

Then I found cardstock that is close to the most noticeable colors in the pictures.

I made the cardstock about 1/8" larger than the pictures. It serves two purposes. One, it frames the picture and makes it look nicer, and two, you'll be able to hide the ribbon between the two layers.

Next, I cut a piece of paper to fit inside the bottom of the tin.

Then the ribbon was taped to the bottom of that piece of paper.

Put extra tape on the paper all around the ribbon to help it stick to the bottom of the tin. Then set the paper in the tin and press firmly all around so the tape sticks.

Allow about 3/4" (this doesn't have to be exact, but you don't want it to be too long) of the ribbon to hang out and lay the cardstock for the first picture under the ribbon.

Cover a good portion of the ribbon as you tape it to the paper. Press it down pretty good, because you don't want it to slip later.

Put several pieces of tape on the back of the picture and place it over the ribbon. Center it on the cardstock so that it's even all the way around.
