Apparently the people in my area know what they have I just searched sizzix on Craigslist and they wanted a lot for them. I found one for $55, but the rest were several hundred depending on what came with.

Keep watching, you'll find a deal. $55 wouldn't be a bad price if they're including a lot of dies with it.

lol I had to look it up myself. hehe

It's a dye cut machine, I believe. They were talking about it because the heart cards were made with one. I looked it up on craigslist to check it out.

Ok here is entry #2... Valentine's Pillowcase dresses... These were made from 2 pillowcases, a piece of antique lace trim, elastic and thread... I wanted to add applique felt hearts, BUT I ran out of red thread on the last sleeve so my extra time for applique was spent hand sewing the sleeve on with embroidery floss... but I got them done!

It's the little red machine in the picture with the cutout hearts. It cuts and embosses, depending on what kind of die you put in it. I believe you can cut not only paper, but fabric, leather, cardboard, cork and I'm not sure what else. It does 'okay' with cutting fabric, but not great. I only tried one kind of fabric and it cut through pretty well but some of the threads were still connected.

There are quite a few different styles of machines on the market that do the same thing. I found that most of the dies are interchangeable, which is neat because some of them are less expensive than others.
