I usually don't do a variety of crafts but this weekend I'm going to a masquerade event so I got to play, *happy dance*. I popped into Michaels and spent more then I should have for supplies, but worth every penny! I think my favorite purchase was a 24 pack of Martha Stewart glitter, it was more expensive then other glitter but the shades that she has are fabulous!!!!

So without further ado, here is my masquerade mask process and was it ever simple! I purchased a plain white plastic mask and punched holes on either side for ribbon. Mixed some glitter with elmers type glue, so no matter what my background had a pink tone, then I poured tons more glitter on top. Applied some rhinestones around the eyes, a pendant on the forehead and drew doodles with my glue and then poured a variety of colored sparkles over top, waiting for the glue to dry between colors. After that I mixed a bunch of different feathers together and taped them to a stick then stapled that onto the mask, the staples are fairly well hidden amongst all the glitter ;0). After all was said and done, a few colored ribbons and it's good to go!

Ok, here's entry #1. Socks... again The down low one these:

made from fingering weight yarn dyed by EcoWrapz in the color Ruby Red. The pattern is Belle Vitini (rav link) by Kristi Geraci. Knit two at a time and I had to use two 29" Susan Bates Quicksilvers because apparently Addi doesn't make size 2.25mm needles. Made in size medium to fit a size US women's 9.5 foot. The leg was made with 1.5 repeats of the pattern and the heel flap was knit changing the ws to k instead of p like the chart suggests.

here's the progress pic:

Wow Amie, that looks so complicated. I don't know how you keep track of all the needles and what kind of stitches to use.

Very nice! And I love the color.

Those are lovely Amie! They are a great colour! I'd be afraid of wearing a hole in them!

Ami- just reading that makes my head spin! I may tackle learning to knit again some day... but last time I tried it took me about 2 weeks just to learn to cast on! Thankful for knitting looms- at least I can get the "look" of knitting without the complication of needles

This thread is just awesome. The mask is very pretty and those socks are gorgeous. I'm happy to see others getting involved in this month's theme.

Thanks everyone. I'm funny in that I have to have something complicated or I'll lose interest and never finish it

You have to finish this project....

It would look kind of funny walking around in just one sock.
