Default Halloween Costumes - October Craft of the Month Contest

This month's theme: Halloween Costumes

It's time for Halloween! To all of us crafters it is the perfect excuse to use our talents to create fun costumes. We want to see your Halloween costume creations. Anything goes!

Whether it is:
-Your Halloween costume for this year
-A costume for your child, friend, or a pet
-A Halloween costume you made in the past
-Even if it's an accessory for a costume (examples: headband, cape, homemade sword)
As long as you had to use your crafting abilities it counts!

What is the Craft of the Month Contest?
Each month we are going to pick a theme or topic and everyone can create a craft based on that theme. Your free to create whatever you like using any type of crafting method but it must be something you create and it must be inspired by our theme of the month.

How do you enter?
Take some pictures of the completed project and one or two of you making it. Then post the pictures along with a brief explanation of the project and how you completed it to this thread. Feel free to comment on other projects and have fun in this thread but only posts with photos and explanations will be considered valid entries.

How is a winner picked?
At the end of each month we will use Random.org to pick winner. The winner will receive a $50 Amazon.com gift card.

What is the theme for this month? Costumes

Good Luck!

This is going to be VERY interesting. Some people don't do Halloween at all, and some go over the top. Either way, it's going to be fun to watch.

Costumes of any kind for any holiday will count. Everyone is more than welcome to enter any costume item they have made for any reason (a play, for dress-up, to amuse the dog... whatever it may be ).

So for those that don't do Halloween, this contest is all about the costumes, not so much Halloween.

For those that go to the extreme in their Halloween costume efforts... please show it off because we'd LOVE to see your genius at work.

Yes, yes... this is going to be fun!

Oh my. Not sure if my sewing skills are up to a costume. lol If nothing else I can post a pic of the one costume I made years ago. My son wanted to be a cowboy. I hand sewed a simple vest out of brown felt material and then used yarn to make a laced edge. It was cute.

I can't wait to see what everyone comes up with!!

How many entries can we post? I've made a few in my time...
I think I have pictures of them
(I know that there is at least one in the costume thread in this forum!)

I agree with Angela! I have a ton of them, of course I don't have any pics of me making them... So they don't count right?

Hmm I had forgotten about that.... The "Furby" costume was a family effort and I have a photo of kenbo and my oldest (who was something like six at the time) making the beak with paper mache... I hope that will count.

For the office staff at the bank years ago, I made us all cards. I used white sheets and painted on them. We used the bottom of the box to hold them up on our shoulders and the material fit over it to keep it square. We wore black stockings with our tennis shoes. I think we were a full house. I can't remember. I need to find those pics!

I have a very simple costume for Halloween. No effort required. Of course, since it is not something I "made", it won't count for the contest . . . what about Halloween decorations? Or is this contest just for costumes?
